On a regular basis, we have over 30 fresh items in our refrigerated cases for you to choose from.  Because many fish items are seasonal, e.g. fishermen are only allowed to catch them at certain times, or nature only makes some things available at certain times. Other things are available in the marketplace but because of high price or low demand, we don’t bring them in except for special orders.  So if you REALLY want something, we can probably get it.  Here’s an alphabetical sample listing of what we offer:

Because so many shell fish items are very perishable, the best way to buy them is when they’ve been frozen right on the boat.  We offer a great selection of restaurant-quality fish, shellfish and frozen prepared entrees that you can’t buy in grocery stores because they’re the top quality products demanded by upscale dining establishments.  Stock-up your freezer with some of these:

We carry a wide range of Ducktrap smoked seafood products from Maine, the finest producer we’ve found this side of the Atlantic. We also custom smoke a lot of product ourselves, to provide you with some really great choices!

Burhop’s offers a huge selection of seafood sauces and marinades, such as Burhop’s own brand  and the delicious Stonewall Kitchens products; specialty rubs and seasonings, including some that are salt-free, delicious organic rice mixes that are great with seafood; wines selected for pairing with seafood (Glenview only); plus a wide variety of gourmet mustards, sea salts, vinegars, oils, crackers, chips, cookies and other delicious, carefully chosen foods to make you look good in the kitchen. We also have a selection of seafood cookbooks, and special tools, like shellfish scissors and seafood forks, to make it easy to prepare and eat your favorite seafood meal.

No need to visit several stores to put together a great meal for the family or for entertaining, it’s all here!  We’ve developed some delicious appetizers, soups, salads, sauces, entrees and side dishes to make Burhop’s your one-stop shop. Everything is made fresh in our own kitchen in Glenview using the finest natural ingredients, no preservatives.  Because we make only what we think will sell in a day or two, we encourage you to PHONE AHEAD to assure that we have what you need.

Shrimp Spectacular

A beautifully garnished tray of Burhop’s unique cocktail shrimp, cooked with our own special blend of herbs and spices, and served with our own cocktail sauce.

You can’t get these anywhere else!

Poached Salmon Fillets*

Beautiful, carefully boned fillets of Atlantic salmon, gently poached in a court bouillon, & elegantly garnished.  The centerpiece of any buffet or dinner party. Allow 1/2 lb. per person for an entree, 4 to 6 oz. as part of a buffet.           

Shrimp ‘n Claws

Our own unique cooked shrimp paired with succulent Jonah crab claws. Something special for the shellfish lovers on your guest list!           

Medium - 2 lbs.         Serves 10-15                                    

Ducktrap Sampler

A superb sampling of succulent smoked products from Maine. Includes 6 oz. mussels, 4 oz. garlic pepper smoked salmon, 4 oz. plain smoked salmon, 6 oz. smoked shrimp & 6 oz. bay scallops.  Artfully arranged on a garnished tray.

Whole Cold Smoked Salmon Side 

Place this whole, boned side of delicious, carefully hand sliced Ducktrap salmon in the center of your table & watch it disappear.  Cold smoked over apple wood in Maine. Beautifully garnished with chopped egg, capers & red onion. 1 lb. to 2 1/2 lb. sides.

Serves 15 - 25                                   

Hot Smoked Salmon Side

Our own fresh farm-raised Atlantic salmon fillets, boned and then custom smoked for us locally.  Choose plain, Cajun or peppered (our chef’s favorite!).  Garnished tray comes with a very tasty horseradish sauce.  Allow about 4 oz./person as an appetizer.

Custom Trays:  If the above trays do not meet your needs, we’ll be glad to supply additional product to replenish the tray, or we will endeavor to create the tray that you need, plus $25 garnish fee.  If you would like us to put an order on your own tray, you must bring it in 2 days before the tray is needed, your name taped to the back.

How to order: Allow at least 3 days (72 hours).  For party trays, we require a credit card deposit.  Tell us the date,  time and day you will pick it up, and a home/cell phone number where you can be reached on the day of pick-up.
